There are two ways of measuring macro magnification – in Camera or in Photoshop.
The most important thing about magnification is that it’s directly related to the size of your camera sensor.
The point when you reach true 1:1 macro magnification, will vary depending on the camera you use.
In order to accurately measure your magnification – first you need to:
Know your sensor size !
Not that many people know that you can measure the magnification of photographs using Photoshop.
The method of measuring magnification in Photoshop is used when you need to know the exact magnification
for existing photos – old photos that you captured long time ago, for cropped photos,
or maybe even for photos that were captured by someone else.
Each photo must be prepared in Photoshop for accurate measurements
and in this video I am showing you exactly how to do that in few simple steps.
Accurate macro magnification measurements
are done without any cropping or digital zooming.
You can crop all you want after you are done with measuring
but not before, because it will give you inaccurate results.
